Adith thap is the highest form of thap. It is the thap that is internally based. Meaning, it is a “fight” with my inner enemies that only Yasmin knows about, Yasmin doesn’t allow others to see what nonviolent war is occurring within her. Adith thap is different from other thaps in that is it a test for oneself, visible thaps are for example like Rishi Mooni’s who would go to into Vaanvaas. Here, with adith thap, we conquer our own inner enemies while acknowledging Yasmin’s bogvato’s and knowing and seeing what is happening is happening to Yasmin and Hu Shudathma Chu.
A simple example of adith thap is for instance- I am forced to eat Dhaar dhokree (something that I dislike) internally once I take a spoon full my reactions are not in favor of it and instead of putting it to the side I would acknowledge my inner enemies who are telling Yasmin not to eat it and begin eating it saying to myself “This is delicious, this is great.”

With adith thap one’s charithra pragat thai.
PPS Kanudadaji is the perfect example of someone is in a constant state of adith thap.

    Lagutham bhave,

Adith tap is a form of refraining from complaining about something that you dislike but has to be completely internal. Tap is not really the act of refraining from file #1 but it is the act of cooling the senses of file #1. ‘Adith’ means is shouldn’t show up on your mind, speech, face, expression, body. It should not at all feel that you are doing tap. The tap is broken when you go to discuss what’s bothering you with someone. I think to understand the full concept of adith tap, one needs to understand the difference between lokik and alokik tap.
Lokik tap is tap related to vyavhar (social situations). For example, if your mom screams at you regarding something, you do not say anything back through vaani, but internally you have already screamt back at her through your mind. Adith tap is actually alokik tap which means that not only did you not react from outwards, but inside also you cooled your senses and understand that the situation is not out of anybody’s doership.
Fundamentally, it needs to be understood tap is not a kriya, it is merely just an understanding. It helps us in gnan and moksh because it helps us resolve all the files. Dadaji has already said that gnan, darshan, charitra and tap are the four pillars of moksh. If you do outwardly tap, it can lead to a good life, but antar (innerly) tap is needed to attain moksh.

adeetha tap is something that cannot be seen by anyone… it is well within.
it occurs deep within the wells of the lotus at the heart center. the beauty of adeetha taap is that it gives rise to a ‘sheetalta’ that cools the inner heart and mind as well as emanates a cooling fragrance into the ether that can impact the hearts of others as well. it is not about ‘controlling’ or ‘repressing’ the mind-speech-body in any way… the mind-speech-body are ‘free’ to ‘dramatically’ unravel as the universal cosmic computer deems… but the inner penance (adeetha taap) is to remain a vitrag observer of the mind-speech-body as it continues to flow from one ‘scene’ to another. adeetha taap requires a complete impartiality to one’s own mind-speech-body. there is no fear and total absolute surrender to the eternal pure soul in order for their to be adeetha taap. the more practice and steadiness one experiences with adeetha taap, the more degrees of divine knowledge that open out. kind and humble jai sat-chitta-anand!

    * What is Adith tap?

I believe Adith tap is the tap that comes from the desire to stay in perpetual paanch aagna state . It is the inner pinch that places one back into their Real state of Shudhatma, when the worldly enticements lure one into believing and living as their Relative self. Living as the Relative leads to suffering and the formation of opinions to bind one on towards more karma and a cycle of rebirths. Mahatmas are gifted with gnaan with the grace of Gnani Purush. This gnaan innately keeps them on their toes due to the opening of the vision of the Real. Because the Relative experiences are both positive (ego- inflating) and negative (ego-deflating), the tendency to shift away from the Real is great; however, adith tap keeps one in check with their true sense of self to extricate themselves from files and lead a life of bliss towards liberation.

    * How is Adith tap different from visible tap and the tap that all scriptures talk about?

There is a stark difference between adith tap and the visible tap or tap seen in scriptures. In the common world, tap is seen as a physical or mental control or limitation that places strain/stress/suffering upon oneself. For example, when sadhus were seen to go into the jungle away from sansaar (society) and force themselves to stop thinking about anything but Brahma, this was their display of tap. As a mahatma, however, our tap is not stopping oneself from living in the comfort of one’s own home or controlling the thoughts that run through our head because we are now only the Knower and Seer of these thoughts and feelings. Adith tap is simply living as Knower and Seer. Seeing what affects file number 1 and knowing what file number 1 likes/ dislikes allows one to stay separate from the sticky factors that keep imbalances and avraan from one’s ultimate pure, free, happy state.

    * How does adith tap help us in gnan and attaining Moksha?

Adith tap helps us in gnaan and moksha because it makes us accept and embrace every circumstance that comes our way. Rather than blaming ourselves, those around us, or a supreme being for the circumstances in our lives, we look what comes as an all balancing shakti (power). By doing so, we are naturally drawn away from that which is not Real, that which is not Permanent, that which is not part of the path towards Moksha. Although we are not perfect in our practice of gnaan and we stray from the Real many times, there is an almost natural gravitational pull towards the Real due to the power and strength of our Shudhatma state, which has been opened through the delicate operations of Gnaani Purush.

    * What is Adith tap Commission?

The commission of adith tap is a state like Dada Bhagvan.
Absolute Real. Permanent Bliss. Perpetual Internal Peace. True Unconditional Love for All. Ultimate Liberation.

I find it most difficult to remain as Shudhatma in times of Avani’s likings. Perhaps that is why so many times Dada Bhagvan asked for negative circumstances to come his way- it sharpens one’s state of Real. Relative happiness is temporary and immediately can turn into sorrow when one realizes that the one thing that seemed so real and true to heart becomes false. Recently I noticed that whenever Avani stays separate in times of liking, she is more likely to remain happy when that same liking turns into disliking. For example, when Avani gets to spend time with her best friend or close family member, she becomes very happy. When digging to find the root of this happiness, it can be attributed to the attachment for the way that person makes Avani feel. However, those feelings are not permanent, so by living as Avani, the happiness is followed by sorrow when departing from that individual. When living separate from Avani and observing the happiness when in contact with family/friends as file number 1 being happy, there is no longer that same effect of tears when the time comes to depart. The sorrow is lighter through the application of gnaan in times of happiness.

  5. Dimple Says:

Constant state of adith tap is the state of Kanudadaji and Ambalaldadaji. Any inconvenience is identified by, experienced by, and erased completely by Gnani. That’s the dasha of Gnani state that there is no fariyaad (complaint) from anybody. There is never blame or claim ever done by Gnani, because the implementation of ultimate knowledge, (specifically vyavastit shakti and relative and real viewpoints) is so divinely and intricately woven into his behavior that He never allows such things to affect His state of being.

Yasmin, your explanation of adith tap was great. Her simple example described the daal dhokari incident–for Kanudadaji—this type of tap present in all dealings with all people in all circumstances. Similarly, Kanudadaji’s vision is so powerful and divine that he will never speak, but take adjustment internally. How he takes adjustment is an art in and of itself.
Yasmin said with adith tap one’s charithra pragat thay—I would like to add…svacharitra…shudhaatma.

Sorry if there is any error in what my understanding is, please correct if possible. Laghuttam bhaave JS to all my mahatmas! 🙂

Thank you for all the great posts on this topic of adith tap….it’s a truly adhbhoot state (one-of-a-kind, remarkable).
